Meals on Wheels has been caring for seniors in Seminole County for over 30 years, having served nearly 3,000 meals per year. Yet, there is still a waiting list of more than 300 needy seniors.
According to their website, “Many seniors live alone and do not have the ability to prepare hot meals or take care of the homes in which they live. These people desperately need someone to provide hot meals, transportation, help with chores and minor home repairs. Often, their only daily human contact with the outside world are the Meals on Wheels, Etc. drivers. ”
For the past several years, I have sponsored various members of the community as they participated in the 3 mile walk/run. This year, I am joining in the fun.
